Talking Tree Project in North St Marys: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists Vicki Thom and Greg Simms led the local community to create a community meeting place under a Talking Tree, inclusive of all cultures to sit, reflect and relax in North St Marys. An initiative by North St Marys involving a range of community partners including the local school, parents group and the local shops. This project was funded by Magnetic Places Community Cultural Grants Program 2008.

Participants in the Artist + Community Toolkit Series - October 2008 Workshop "Arts Funding and Sponsorship". In this presentation by Australian Business Arts Foundation (ABAF) in association with Information Cultural Exchange (ICE) participants acquired the knowledge, skills and tools for seeking private sector support for their CCD and arts projects! Evaluations conducted reveal participants saying they learned “how to build a creative community” and “tools to connect with local and diverse communities providing a framework that is empowering.”  Previous Llandilo Mulitcultural Footprints: an exciting joint project between the Maltese and Chinese community and a community artist, to develop the grounds around Llandilo Community Hall resulting in a collaborative mosaic project, creating a common space reflective the richness and diversity of culture in Llandilo. An initiative by Nepean Migrant Access in partnership with Penrith Women’s Health Centre and the Chinese and Maltese community in Llandilo funded by Magnetic Places Community Cultural Grants Program 2008.
