Ngadhu, Ngulili, Ngeaninyagu - A Personal History of Aboriginal Art in the Premier State
Campbelltown City Council (2 other projects)
Ngadhu, Ngulili, Ngeaninyagu - A Personal History of Aboriginal Art in the Premier State brought together, for the first time, Aboriginal artists from across the state to tell the story of the development of Aboriginal art in NSW.
Aboriginal Curator Djon Mundine OAM sourced historical works that have rarely been shown, such as the works of Mickey of Ulladulla, loaned from the Clarence River Historical Society, Grafton, to artists such as Brook Andrew who have international careers and have been influential on emerging artists including Genevieve Grieves and Jason Wing. Ngadhu, Ngulili, Ngeaninyagu also included substantial new commissions by Esme Timbery, Milton Budge, Badger Bates and Adam Hill.
Campbelltown Arts Centre has a strong commitment to supporting the development of contemporary urban Aboriginal art in New South Wales. This commitment is motivated by our partnerships and collaborations with artists and communities.
