Didge workshop as part of PPF 5

Aboriginal Cultural Development - Award Winner Division C

Past Present Future 5 (PPF 5) is the Loft Youth Venue's Aboriginal youth arts program undertaken in partnership with the local Aboriginal community. PPF 5 featured Aboriginal heritage site visits and cultural camps, as well as a strong workshop and presentation program in music, visual arts and traditional Aboriginal artforms: didge playing and basketweaving. Funding for PPF 5 was sourced from the Indigenous Cultural Support program and the Commonwealth Aboriginal cadet program. The success of PPF 5 has seen confirmed additional funding for 2009 from Arts NSW, the National Binge Drinking Strategyand Foundation for Young Australians of more than $120,000.
